Oh my I just saw that the last time I posted to this was 2 years ago! Seriously, I know this must be wrong. Well how much can happen in 2 years... My husband and I know have a 1.5 year old - boy if anyone tries to say that having a kid(s) is a breeze, please just smack them.
So, now that we have added a third mouth to this table, I think I will start to cover some items that we make on a regular basis for the little one. Of course I treat her like a mini veggie - and so far it's been quite a success. Although not all the extended family members think this is a good idea (and make those opinions well known).
I'm going to have to spend some serious time updating - we have been to San Fran and had some fabulous food - oh my land of restaurants! Some restaurants in the Southside have changed and opened and some local regulars have made some serious upgrades. I am horribly awful about taking pictures - so please forgive - maybe it will give you a reason to go try it for yourself.
Tootles.
We are a (once urban) country couple living in historic Fort Worth. One of our favorite things to do is eat - and eat good food. Over the past 15+ years I have gone vegan, moved to vegetarian, and now consume some fish (pescatarian). I am married to a true meat and potatoes kind of guy. We share our home with a typical 11-year old (loves it one day, hates it the next). So, as we review, we will be bringing each of our unique eating habits to the table.

Chadra does Fort Worth South Annual Dinner
I don't normally write about weird eating experiences, especially those the reader could never duplicate, but I have to say that the veg friendly meal I was served at the Fort Worth South annual dinner last night complements of Chadra Mezza was quite tasty.
So, I haven't ever really written anything about Chadra - it's just one of our normal standbys. They have a great buffet that could put any Chinese buffet to same (they should all come and take notes). I enjoy it for the moderately prices items and the high amount of vegetarian options, hubby just likes the buffet of food on Friday nights.
Even though I don't really comment on their "ordinary" meals, this dish was just too original to pass up.
We attended the Fort Worth South Annual dinner and I of course am the odd man out at the dinner table - requiring a green table topper so they could find me the lone vegetarian in the room. The tabouleh and the dessert were just ho-hum, but I couldn't stop eating my main course. Cinnamon flavored rice topped with a marinated portobello mushroom with roasted & almost candied pistachio, almond and walnuts. I have never cooked with cinnamon outside of dessert and cinnamon & sugar toast for breakfast, but this was fantastic. It was like having a healthy dessert for dinner. The flavor was sweet, but not overpowering.
Delightful.
